OR CHECKLISTS : RELIABLE AVOIDANCE OF MIX-UPS IN THE OR!
Every operation in EuromedClinic is documented with an OR checklist based on the “Surgical Safety Checklist” of the WHO.During the course of the entire operational procedure – from the introduction into the OR until return to the care unit – over 30 checklist points must be checked by nursing and operation staff. In addition to the operating surgeon, the patient must also actively confirm his identity, the operation to be performed, the side to be operated on, and additional OR details.
Thus we can ensure that operational mix-ups can be reliably avoided!
